Getting my hair `did`

Getting my hair `did`

A year and a half on, i`m still very much enjoying my short hair. I`m not gonna lie, i occasionally miss my long `fro`, but am still happy to have shaved it off.
Being true to self, i still wake up and feel bored with my look. Thankfully i`m never short of ideas.
This is my latest expression in the works (getting the top tinted midnight-blue.
Who says short hair is boring!

Retro in Cape Town – Solanje Knowles

I love this girl`s spirit of adventure and love her even more for letting it take her to Africa.

Her sense of fashion always captures my eye. Check out the retro looks in this video

Robert Marley

I`ve just watched Marley, the documentary film about Bob Marley`s life. A word to describe him?
Humanitarian : Having concern for or helping improve the welfare and happiness of people.

Mali : Fatoumata Diawara

I have recently discovered music by Fatoumata Diawara from Mali. West African music is amongst the best in Africa and alongside other forms of West African art, it is a dream of mine to experience it in the flesh.

This particular song, is a favourite of mine from her.

Batiks from Zim

So, i have`nt  posted anything in while…

I suppose i try not to do anything unless i feel inspired and motivated, otherwise, it`s really not coming from the heart and its very important to me that everything i do is from my heart.

Anyway!!!

I`m very excited to share these beautiful batik prints from Zimbabwe. I`ve met with the artist who does them and have an exciting project coming up involving batiks. Zimbabwe is well known to produce some of the very best batiks in Africa.

Regarding the batik adventure;

Cushions, pillows, throws, beanbags. All things cozy and comfy to add a dash of Africa into our lives.

Bantu.Chic Is Conceived

A friend just text me `do you have a blog yet`? Ummmm 5 seconds later i am writting this,so thank you to my friend for giving me that final push.

Being African, being Zimbabwean and being a woman. All of these things have had a lot to do with the Bantu.Chic concept. A love of arts/crafts, fashion and beauty, music, a mother who has a passion for ethnic inspired fashion.

I would like to share with you my journey towards realising a dream of mine….

Showing the African continent in a positive light, showing and sharing the talent, creativity, the beauty of its people.
The richness of the African soil.

A land i love, like no other.
